A simple round top solid mahogany stick barometer with "ivorine" plates and vernier, and alcohol thermometer. The maker is Aronsberg & Co. of Liverpool. Typical of many barometers made at this time in the late 19 th century out of solid oak, mahogany or  rosewood. This one has an attractive look, with both the wood and the plates in good condition, and a nice color.
