M785 Stick Barometer
Admiral Fitzroy type barometer, very similar to the one shown on page 223 of the book on stick barometers. In totally original condition, the only damage being to one ivory knob for the left hand vernier adjustment.
Comprising a barometer with Admiral Fitzroy's remarks (appearing to be printed on wood veneer); a maximum / minimum barometer with the small iron register bars (a magnet is supplied with the barometer); a dry bulb and a wet bulb mercury thermometer as well as the glass reservoir for holding water for the wet bulb.
The case is of oak, and the two thermometer scales are box wood. Intriguingly, one of the scales has an address (Westgate Street, Gloncester) but no name!
